The field of hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) has grown increasingly complex with expanding applications and donor options. A major component of a successful transplant outcome is appropriate and timely referral of patients for transplant consultation.
An Early Referral Slide Set teaching tool has been developed by the ASBMT Committee on Education in conjunction with the CIBMTR® (Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research®) and the National Marrow Donor Program® (NMDP)/Be The Match®.
This slide set, consisting of more than 100 slides, was developed to address advances in HCT and optimal timing of referral, for use with community hematology and oncology physicians and providers who refer patients to transplant centers.
